Message:

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Psalm 46:10
Personally, I have had the best experiences in my walk with God when I prioritize the stillness of His presence. He has guided me in making crucial decisions about marriage, career, business, ministry and beyond.
Stillness is difficult to do! In a world of constant movement, to be ‘still’ seems foreign. To be still defies our tendencies to be up and about through the bustle and hustle of life. To be still seems unproductive. To be still seems unprofitable.
Nevertheless God is counter culture! In our discipline of stillness before Him, we experience Him on levels we otherwise would not have. In stillness, we hear Him clearly, lovingly, and specifically. Stillness before God is the secret to hearing, knowing, and understanding His will for our lives.
Stillness before God affords us the opportunity to His power, provision, protection and peace. Stillness before God requires a heart posture that is teachable, humble, open, willing and ready to hear, listen, and obey. Stillness before God is properly achieved by prayer and reading the Word.
When we rid ourselves of distractions and we intentionally focus on Him daily and consistently through our daily communication with Him via prayer and reading of the Word, we will blossom in our relationship with Him! God longs to guide us in the right way to go in every area of our lives. He is not interested in us being confused, He provides clarity as we lean on Him on life’s issues. Today, I encourage you to be still before Him and hear Him speak on that issue!
Modesty:

I have personally come a long way on my modesty journey by God’s grace. What I have learned is that there are a lot of religious groups that are so focused on the external when it comes to modesty to point that it becomes an idol. To avoid this, I allow the word of God to be the ultimate guide in my modesty journey.
My policy is this: while I will not wear certain things ie: pants, jewelry, makeup, artificial hair etc based on my personal conviction inspired by the word of God, it is never my intend to force others to do the same. My goal is to share my conviction in hopes that the Lord may use it to bless others.
I believe that when the foundation is right (a genuine relationship with Christ through salvation), He knows how to work on individuals to conform to His image. Forcing people to not do something in the name of religion will only create hypocrisy not holiness. Below is a video highlighting the modest dressing principles that I live by.
I pray that by sharing my conviction someone would be inspired to pursue a deeper walk with the Lord that will yield complete purity and modesty of life within and without.
Marriage:
In the beginning, God created male and female [Genesis 5:2]. There are many differences between male and female and that was God’s original design. In marriage, the male female differences are heightened. The knowledge of the differences between the two genders requires God’s grace, and patience to navigate through with wisdom and prayer. The differences in the genders can be used to benefit the relationship or harm the relationship. The choice is the couple’s.

A good book that I read prior to marriage related to this topic from a biblical point of view is “Love and Respect: The Love She Most Desires; The Respect He Desperately Needs” by Emerson Eggerichs. I recently listened to the audio version of this book and I was very grateful that I did!
I understood the book from a new perspective as a married woman. The book is so insightful and Biblically sound. This time around, I have a much better understanding of how to respect my husband in very practical terms and live in continuous harmony as a couple by God’s grace.
If you’re married, in courtship or praying towards marriage, I highly recommend this book!
Motherhood: One of my greatest desires in life is to raise godly children. As a mother my role in the lives of my children is pivotal and influential. By God’s grace godly seeds have been sown in prayer and we are beginning to see those seeds beautifully sprout especially in our daughter.

It completely warms my heart when I hear my daughter say “mommy, I trust God!” “I love Jesus”; “Jesus died on the cross because He loves me so much!” or she will make a statement and add “…by God’s grace” or she begins singing praise and worship songs at random. She also knows the fruit of the spirit and recites it often etc. I make sure to use that as an opportunity to teach her what the fruit of the spirit mean in practical terms.
For example I’ll say ‘children of God are patient this means that you wait for your turn, you and your brother take turns (especially when I am preparing their meals or feeding them at the same time), when you ask for something and mommy says wait, you wait’; she will repeat it back to be at another time when the situation calls for it.
We are praying that our children will truly be children of God, lovers of God and workers for God because those are the best things in life and the best way for them to be guided properly in life.
