Inner Beauty: True Beauty

The quote in the picture above is a verse of scripture that is found in 1Peter 3:3-4. It is one of my favorite verses of scripture and one that I abide by. Now, there are plenty misinterpretation surrounding this verse, but I am not here to dissect any of that. I read God’s Word, believe and obey it, pray for divine understanding, and live accordingly. I thought that the photo above was very pretty, feminine, and spiritually thought provoking; thus, was eager to share 🙂

However, after reading 1Peter 3:3-4, I thought a bit and decided to elaborate a little on the word “beauty.” A lot of our perceptions of “beauty” has been affected by the society we live in, and its misconstrued definition of what beauty is. So what is beauty? Beauty is not merely the outward image of a person, but rather an inward virtue that only becomes present when one loves God with their entire existence. True beauty begins from within after we have allowed Christ into our hearts. As we become more and more knowledgeable of the Word of God and spend intimate time with Him daily, the beauty of Christ gradually radiates from our inner selves and eventually halos our entire being. God clothes us with His glorious Glory as His children and chosen ones. That Glory becomes an aura over us that undeniably exudes Christ, and differentiates us from those who lack the knowledge of Christ.

Just the other night, I felt God prompting me to read Proverbs 31 and so I humbly yielded ðŸ™‚. I began reading from verse 10 through to verse 31. As I read, I was absolutely amazed at the picture so perfectly painted by God, and the protruding characteristics that a woman who is indeed virtuous embodies. Three verses in particular struck me, verse 10 which says: “who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies” and verse 25 which says Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come” and lastly verse 26 “She openeth her mouth with widsom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.” In summation, I concluded that a virtuous woman is bold, strong, selfless, caring, not lazy, wise, but above all she speaks gracious words. I could do nothing but to pray and ask God to instill in me those qualities aforementioned as I desire to be a virtuous woman.

I believe that as young ladies and women, if we strive to seek after God and allow Him to teach us to personify the qualities that are found in Proverbs 31 verse 10 through 31, THEN are we true beauties. As stated in verse 10, our price would be FAR above rubies!  Did you catch the rhyme? (lol) ðŸ™‚

I pray that we will all be clothed with the Glorious Beauty of Christ as we endeavor to love, and live for Him in Jesus’ name (Amen)

Be Blessed,
Charity
