Bible Study: “Loving Our Enemies as God Loves Them”

Source

Do you love your enemies? Do you do good to them that despitefully use you and persecute you? The answer that a ‘natural’ man would give is “of course not!” But as Christians we are no longer natural beings – we are supernatural beings living in a natural world and therefore we are called by our Master and Lord Jesus Christ to have His very nature of pure, selfless love. This love demonstrated toward ourselves and sinners will set us apart from the people who have not been translated from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Light.

As Children of God, our higher calling is to LOVE. We are commanded to love each other but especially those who are our enemies and who for the name of Christ persecute us. Will you obey? I pray that God will increase His grace in our lives so that we can learn from the example of Jesus Christ and love those who we deem undeserving of love remembering that we were once one of them in Jesus name! “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”-Roman 5:8
