Curly Hair Solutions: Seven Steps to a Beautifully Elegant Twisted Bun – A Pictorial

I wore a certain awesome hairstyle for work yesterday, and loved the outcome so much I felt an inclination to share with you all the steps to achieve the style! I love buns and twists in my hair – is there a way to combine both in one hairstyle? Find out below!

So let’s get started! A little information on my hair – my hair is in a transition period – it’s been released from a week and few days of wearing cornrows and getting ready to wash. But I needed to do something with it for the time in between.

STEP 1: Let us begin!

STEP 2: Prepping Time!

STEP 3: Pony Tail

I normally bend my head low when brushing and gathering my hair into a ponytail – it makes it somewhat easier for me. I also double the one headband as seen in the picture above before applying. I wrap it around my hair twice for a secure grip. Please avoid headbands with metals attached – can rip hair and cause breakage.

STEP 4: Time to Twist!

Once my hair was secured with the headband, I separated my hair into three (3) sections with my hands and made three (3) individual jumbo twists. You can make more twists if you like.

STEP 5: Creativity tested. Pin Away sister!

This is the fun part! When you have the preferred number of twists, begin to pin them down with your bobby pins. Here, you can freestyle as much as you like. The goal is a bun. You can make a rounded or an irregular bun. There isn’t any strict method to the end product – you are the one to decide the end product as you pin your twists around themselves.

Step 6: A polished finish.

The twists are secured. At this point, I brushed the edges a little more with the soft bristle brush for a finished and polished appearance. All done!

STEP 7: The Big Reveal *gasps*
Ready to dress up and head out or stay in! 🙂

The final product! Isn’t it beautiful? I didn’t time the process, but generally one can do this style in 10 to 15 minutes or less. Looks complicated, yet so simple to achieve.

You can dress up or down with this style – hope you’ll give it a try! Send in your pictures – would love to see how yours turned out! I am a happy curly – #ThankyouJesus! #NaturallyCurlyHairSoultions #CurlyHairisBeautiful #ANursehairstyle #Protectivestyling #DCLMChristian
