Inner Beauty: Eternal and Incorruptible

“Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price”- 1 peter 3: 2,3

Jewels and cosmetics have no eternal value; in reference to that statement, I am reminded of 2 Corinthians 4:18 “…for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal”. If jewels and the such are temporal why make them a priority in our lives all in the name of “I want to look pretty” only to wipe it off (as in makeup) or take off (jewelries) before bed and then reapply the next morning? That is not beauty. The beauty that Jesus Christ gives does not come off and on in the way that women apply makeup and jewelry.

The secret to sustaining that eternal beauty of Jesus Christ is our commitment to immersing ourselves in His presence on a consistent basis – the more time you spend with Him, the more radiantly beautiful you will truly become, absence of jewelry and makeup! The idea that makeup and jewelry makes us beautiful is a big lie! I challenge you to stop running after your makeup and jewelries and run to Jesus, the giver of authentic and permanent beauty! Jesus Christ is the most beautiful and precious jewel a lady can put in her heart, and on her body!

Jesus is the source and solution of beauty. True beauty is not found in makeup, painting nails, and putting on of jewels of gold and silver. The inner man that has been regenerated by Jesus Christ is what will last eternally and is indeed beautiful. As the bible states “… the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible...which is in the sight of God of great price”- 1 peter 3: 2,3. NOT the visible outer man bathed in makeup and decked with jewels!

Have you found Jesus Christ the author of beauty, or are you running after and so much attached to the temporal items the people of the world use to ‘beautify’ themselves? Are you following after the Savior or Self in your physical adornment?

Challenge: Jesus within is more precious than jewels and painting without!

Prayer: Oh Lord, strip me of temporary earthly adornment, help me to be focused on conforming to, and perfecting my heart (which is not seen and is eternal) in your divine nature. Give me the boldness to be detached from my makeup, nail polishes, and jewelries and grant me absolute confidence in you as my only beauty solution. Lord Jesus, I come to you surrendering all my worldly temporal beauty gadgets at your feet. Take it all, and give me your eternal incorruptible beauty that radiates from the inside out! Amen.

Have a blessed day!
