Message:
“Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”
Psalm 37:4

I was listening to the audio Bible this week and the verse of scripture above ministered to me. To ‘delight‘ is to take interest in, to have a liking for, to love, and to spend time with. As we delight ourselves in God by doing the aforementioned, we will begin to desire His will because there is a renewal of mind that occurs.
We no longer want our lustful pursuits, we begin to desire His perfect plans and thus He fulfills our desires according to His purpose for our lives. The secret to getting our godly desires fulfilled is to delight in the Giver – to have a sincere interest, liking, love, and dedicate time for Him in reading His Word and communing with Him in prayer.
God has so much to give us, but our obtaining of those things be it material or otherwise is determined by our love Him, and our prioritization of Him in our daily schedule. Personally, I like to begin my day first with God. These days listening to the Bible has become more practical and effective way to still get the word in as I carry on the daily activities.
When you love someone it is a natural tendency to want to spend time with him or her. It is as well a normal occurrence to want to be in frequent communication with that person because communication sustains the relationship.
Do you have a personal relationship with God?
How is your relationship with God?
Do you genuinely love Him?
Do you talk to Him on a daily basis?

Do you carve out special time in your daily schedule to sit before Him for Him to speak to you?
God loves you so much! All He is asking for is a few minutes of the 24-hours He has given to you. Please don’t be too busy to daily connect with the Solution and Source of your problems and desires.
As we approach the end of the week, begin with God. If you don’t have a relationship with God, you can begin today. Confess your sins to Him, ask Him for forgiveness and ask Him to come and live in your heart and give you the grace to live above sin.
Challenge yourself afterwards to spend special quality time with God in prayer and by reading His word everyday. This commitment will solidify and strengthen your relationship with Him.
Be challenged!
Modesty: Sometime ago, I shared a video about how we are teaching my daughter modesty. That video was actually filmed when my daughter was still quite a baby. She’s a now a full fledged toddler and is able to understand things better. We’ve been teaching her the practical and virtuous aspects of modesty.
One of the ways we do that is to teach her affirmations – she has daily affirmations that she is encouraged to confess. The affirmations points to her true identity in Christ; this we pray will give her a solid foundation for a modest lifestyle within and without. “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
Marriage: In almost 4 years of marriage, I have realized that the word of God is the perfect manual for life and marriage! God is very intentional about providing principles and instructions for a fulfilling life on Earth and beyond. I am learning daily the importance of diligently guarding my marriage with “the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” and with prayer. The devil’s major work is to attack marriages and especially those that are based on Godly principles. The devil attacked the first marriage that God formed in the Garden of Eden. He is still in the business of destroying holy matrimonies! We must fast and pray fervently daily that the devil and his agents will not have an occasion to permeate into our marriages! We must be vigilant and prayerful. One of the ways that I guard my marriage is by being mindful of my thoughts!

Sometimes the most weirdest of thoughts comes to mind – I realize that if I give it space in my mind by nurturing such ideas, it will take root and create unnecessary fear, anxiety and doubt. Therefore, I cast such thoughts out of my mind and embrace the peace of God. “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” 2 Corinthians 10:5.
Motherhood: one of the things I enjoy most as a mom is dressing my children. I so much enjoy putting clothing pieces together and seeing it all come together on them. I enjoy dressing my children physically, but praying for and nurturing their heart in Christ through God’s Word.
When I dress my children I keep modesty in mind, as well as beauty. I intentionally purchase and put good looking clothes on them. I also make sure that I am modeling modesty and ensuring that I am doing what I preach. I make sure to not put anything on them that I will not put on myself; with this, I am striving to be consistent with what I believe and instilling the same in them by God’s grace.
